About Me

My name is David Akins, and I am a young astronomer wannabe and tech fan who loves to code. I create stunning websites, simple games (extremely simple), and awesome templates & maybe tutorials. I have a popular nickname: AwesomDev.

My passion for programming started sometime in 2020, the same year I got an account on Khan Academy, a free and world-class education for anyone anywhere, which my dad had introduced me to.

Here are some of my current skills:

1. Python (I've quit using this) - You can use this for anything, like AI

2. HTML (the language that makes up the web) - I use this for Flask apps and sometimes Express.js servers like this one.

3. React (built for user interfaces) - I use this when my apps are really big.

4. Next.js(makes using React easier than ever) - I really like this, it solves some of the issues with React.

5. Solid.js(another user interface framework similar to React) - Me and my dad really like this one, because there are no Hook Rules like the ones in React. Me and my dad tried to build a package that is Carbon Charts for Solid.js -- and it worked!

6. TypeScript(makes using JavaScript more "typish") - I want to always use this, it makes my feel more "typish" when I am coding.

7. JavaScript - Duh, you need to know this for TypeScript, it literally compiles back into JavaScript.

8. GoLang (my favourite language yet) - I recently started learning this language, so you ask me a question about it, if it is advanced in GoLang, I may not be able to answer it.

9. ChainGPT - This is a GoLang package my dad created. Learn everything about it here! I may soon help my dad with it.

10. Git - This is actually what is letting me show my portfolio and its code to the world.

I really like coding so much, but I also like playing soccer, table tennis, and the piano. I play them mostly for fun, but sometimes I play them competitively.

I was born in Akron, Ohio, United States, but I like to speak, write, type, and hear British. For example, instead of typing "favorite", I like to type "favourite".
